Here's Our First Look at Darksiders 3

That's right people. THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have just announced through IGN's, IGN First initiative that Darksiders 3 is now in development, and is scheduled to release sometime in 2018 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.

"There is simply no team better qualified to create Darksiders III, beginning with our unpredictable and enigmatic hero FURY - a mage who is considered the most powerful of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!"

The plot of Darksiders III will see Earth "overrun by the Seven Deadly Sins" and a myriad of creatures under their command.

In a press release, THQ Nordic confirmed that it is working with Gunfire Games (a team mostly made up of former Darksiders series devs) on Darksiders 3.

The star of the new game is Fury who is on a quest to dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins, a trip that will take her "from the heights of heaven down through the depths of hell" and demand that she prove she is the most powerful of the Horsemen. It is good to know for sure that this game is coming.

The reveal trailer for the upcoming hack-and-slash adventure game is below.

Darksiders III is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One with a planned release of sometime in 2018.

Lars Wingefors, Co-Founder and Group CEO of THQ Nordic AB also added that the company has taken its time to ensure that "Darksiders 3" will be everything that action-adventure gamers could dream of and more.

The lack of things to do and the repetitiveness held back "Darksiders 2" from being an even greater action RPG game of the sort, though it was still on the greatest titles in its time.

The in-game world will be an "open-ended, living, free-form planet Earth dilapidated by war and decay".
