Blackhawks hope to start comeback vs. Predators

"Please rise and welcome seven-time Grammy victor and longtime Nashville Predators fan Carrie Underwood", the announcer said to the delight of the sold-out crowd inside the Bridgestone Arena.

But to focus on the fluky things that helped the Predators overcome the Blackhawks in a 3-2 overtime victory Monday misses the emerging point of this series: Nashville looks like the better, more unsafe team. A non-call for goalie interference on the game-tying score and Kevin Fiala's game-winner were the latest in a string of heartbreaking moments that, over the past few days, turned the confidence surrounding the Hawks into doom and gloom.

And I thought it couldn't get any louder in here.

"He had lots of looks and lots of opportunities, even in the first period".

Crawford had seemed determined to keep Chicago alive, making 46 stops in the defeat.

In overtime, he was the man... generating scoring chances nearly everytime he touched the puck, Crawford stoned him twice before he finally broke through with the game victor, cranking the Bridgestone Arena insanity level up to 10... "They're a great team and we're going to enjoy this right now and then go for the next one".

The Chicago Blackhawks need a victory here to force a game five at the United Center on Saturday.

Blame, accountability, self-analysis, frustration, anger and so on is what may be around the corner if the Blackhawks are sent packing from the Stanley Cup playoffs in the first round again.

The Blackhawks spent 141:05 trying to find the net in these playoffs.

Kane tied his career high for shots on goal in a playoff game during the second period with seven. It's also why he was scratched three times in a four-game span in March. "We had pressure, we were getting pucks back, we had zone time".

If the Predators are able to close out the series Wednesday and sweep the Blackhawks they will make history.

He was part of an unsuccessful battle (along with P.K. Subban) behind the Nashville net, didn't hustle back into defensive position once Blackhawks took possession of the puck and once he did get back above the goal line was slow to recognize which man was his responsibility.

"That line, they've got quick sticks and they've got some quickness and they've had a [good] group the whole last part of the year", Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said Tuesday. The difference for them is they've been through a 3-0 series deficit before and almost accomplished the comeback.

"Try to get the puck as much as possible, try to make good plays and hopefully things can (be created)".

Chicago entered the third period with a 2-0 lead, but two Filip Forsberg goals forced overtime. "But after that we can only talk about taking every game at a time here and be ready to do whatever we can do to win the next game".

"It's a big win for us", Predators defenseman Ryan Ellis said.
