Sanders: Trump Is a 'Fraud' Moving America Towards 'Authoritarianism'

Although Hillary Clinton has confined her Trump sentiments to a tweet or two, Bernie Sanders, the far-left candidate of the democratic party has spoken out against Donald Trump, except it wasn't as much an outing as a roasting.

"This guy is a fraud", Sanders told CNN.

Tapper was talking to Sanders about the administration's move, via executive order, to chip away at Dodd-Frank, the bill regulating Wall Street banks that was put into place after the 2008 financial crash. And over the weekend, CNN's State of the Union host Jake Tapper (begrudgingly) asked the 75-year-old an "admittedly rather frivolous" question: "Did you ever think you would become a fashion icon?" This guy ran for president of the United States saying 'I, Donald Trump, I'm going to take on Wall Street. "And now he is going to dismantle legislation that protects consumers".

Trump appointed Steve Mnuchin, a former Goldman Sachs executive, to be secretary of the Treasury. He's worth only $800,000, according to Forbes. Numerous clothes came emblazoned with Sander's signature campaign logo, except they read "Balenciaga" rather than "Bernie".

'I will give you that, ' the senator from Vermont continued.

The veteran left-winger rubbished the President as a "good TV guy" who was disingenuous in his presidential election campaign. "These are people who are going to go after the needs of working families, the elderly, the children, the sick, and the poor".

And said he believed Trump would 'sell out the middle class and the working class of this country'.

Tapper said Sanders had warned during the campaign that Trump would pull this switcheroo, but a lot of his supporters apparently believed Trump was honest and voted for him over Hillary Clinton, who Sanders had accused of too-close ties to Wall Street.

The criticism obviously carries extra weight because this is an issue on which there was seemingly potential overlap between Trump and Sanders supporters. If Trump had said his real plans and people still voted him in, "that's fine, that's democracy", Sanders said.

Pointing again to the people that Trump has since hired, Sanders said, 'That is called hypocrisy'.

Sanders called on Republicans to "have the courage to stand up to Trump's movement towards authoritarianism".

We don't know, Bernie, that coat you wore to Trump's inauguration was kind of dope!
